Though it is technically just a pool house, I'd love to move into this 1,200 square foot structure as my primary residence.
With a kitchen, bathroom and large living space — it's near perfect! Designed by New York based architects at Hariri & Hariri, the pool house in Wilton, Connecticut includes a spa, outdoor shower, 3,630 square foot pool, and lots of outdoor living space on a stone terrace.
Would you move in?

White Enamel Four-P...
I could see myself living there!
heck yes! if that's the pool house, what does the main house look like??
I saw this house featured on HGTV's Top 10 Pool Houses and thought it was a great approach to something that can usually be pretty uninteresting.
1200 sf with the pool outside the front door and huge terraces wrapping all the way around?
Heck Yeah, I'd move right in...
...Can I borrow the Ferrari too, Higgins?
the shapes are beautiful!
that looks like that house in the Sims 3!
I'll drop my job and become the pool boy!
It looks like a 50's era retro-futuristic gas station -- in the best possible way
I would love to be the Carlton to this pool house
There's no doubt this is stunning but it made me think back to a previous entry made this week - the obese eames chair and its referrence to over consumption. It does seem excessive.
A small detail, but one that annoys me--wouldn't you think with all the money and thought that went into this they could have sprung for more than a standard aluminum pool ladder? The curved lines just don't work with the angles of everything else at all.
It's hard to tell what time of day these pics were taken, but in general it's not a good idea to site a pool in afternoon shade, unless you enjoy an extra icy dip. Even if it's heated, you incur more energy cost to heat it, but I doubt this homeowner would miss the few hundreds a season that might amount to.
This is something close to my dream. There's a development in Austin called 969, also called Agave. They feature modern houses designed by architects. Development has been slowed down by the recession.
However, the development offers a small one story with an adjoining studio that can be used as a studio (if one is an artist or a craftsperson) or for other business purposes (such as a small law practice). The main building is built around a courtyard. The first prototype is about to be built. I'd like to build one myself, and then add a close-in pool in the courtyard like this structure has on one side.
I'll advise if I ever reach my dream. And provide photographs of the eventual outcome.
What is a pool house to some would be far more than enough to others ...
What's the purpose of a pool house, anyway?
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
