It's easy to ditch the Queen Ann tea set and replace it with something more modern — but if you already have a tea set, why not make it modern by integrating some contemporary elements into the set. Once you've updated the serveware, you can change other tea time preconceptions. How about adding formal tea service to your dinner routine? Or try substituting your morning coffee with black tea? Two tea bags have the same amount of caffeine as a regular cup of coffee.

That green set could mingle nicely with many old-fashioned floral patterns. Truly granny-chic!
I like the all white 3rd set. So chic.

green?....looks more Dr Suess
Tea bags? The horror!
Oooo the green one please.
That is a beautiful shade of green. I prefer white pieces, as I like all the different shades and hues of white when they are put together.
But that green COULD be a game-changer!
Tea fanatic here, and I agree with Sussu; no tea bags at a tea party (though I do usually use them at work.) I have collected teapots and cups and saucers, antique and modern, for years and love to mix and match. Another tea party must: plenty of savories to balance out the sweets. And finally: alcohol an option (as my tea get-togethers start at around 4 in the afternoon and tend to segue into cocktail parties.)
How could I get the green finish on vintage but in bad shape pieces from the thrift shop?
These tea sets are so playful. Mix in some of these bad boys: http://www.etsy.com/listing/57407343/nasty-teacup and you've got a mad hatter party already in the works! Perfect way to bring tea parties back into your life!
