I absolutely love the look that this Thanksgiving table showcases: a new and modern take on a tabletop holiday. The clear lucite chairs are the perfect detail to complement a modern, square plate, white mini pumpkin placecard holders, and the gorgeous driftwood centerpiece entertwined with long, tapered candles.
Styled by Colin Cowie, via the Hampton Hostess, this is a fresh, new way to cool off the traditionally warm tones of Thanksgiving. What do you think?

Nomade Express Slee...
When I think of Thanksgiving, I think of warm colors, obnoxious amounts of fatty rich foods and the cozy comfort of a linen table cloth surround by couches, chairs and all of my close friends and family. When I see this, although aesthetically pleasing to the part of me that appreciates design, I picture Cylons (I hate that I know what those are but my hubby loves SciFi) eating bland food robotically and the only sound is the clinking of forks and knives on the plates. Ooh, no, maybe a dinner scene from "Mommy Dearest". ;)
Not a fan... my apartment may be contemporary, but I'm a traditionalist when it comes to holiday decor.
(Also, I would be afraid to sit on a Lucite chair after downing my weight in turkey & stuffing.)
I agree w/Kfair and Slangevar. It feels very cold to me and the mirrors don't help. If this same setting was in a room with warmer colors and decor, then maybe it would change my mind.
Me no likey.
Lucite is SO passé.
That's pretty as a museum display, or concept - but really? I've seen prison cells with more warmth and charm.
It is too much of the same thing, clear and reflection. I like clear chairs, like the ghost chair, best when it is mixed with a lot of color or a natural wood. It would feel uncomfortable to me to be able to see everyone under the table as well as in the mirrors while eating, it's too much. But I do like the gold accents with the simple white plates and pumpkin. I think the place settings are very pretty as there is more of a mix there.
I like the IDEA of Lucite but it just seems So impractical for items that get used...and dining chairs, they get USED. As decor I'm down with the Lucite but it's just soft plastic that's easily scratched, and who wants a scratched up clear plastic chair?
It seems somehow....dated and gaudy.
I love it!
Will scratch up in a minute, look tacky, as well being environmentally unfriendly.
"Honey, do I look fat in this chair?"
eeewww
Just says "I'm so thankful we're so d*mn rich. And it's still nowhere near the level of Trump crap.
I think it's funny that for all the effort and styling that went into this, that place card looks like it was written by an elementary schooler.
the reason this is overdone is because all the dinnerware is also crystal clear, plus the room itself has a wall of mirror, which adds up to being "too much" with the mirrored table and lucite chairs. Somebody needs to put SOMETHING opaque in this room please!
I love this. It soothes my soul. Most holiday dinner tables are way too "done" and that is not my style.
Would love to be invited there!
I like the look of lucite/plastic chairs too, but have always wondered if anyone else sees it as impractical. After sitting on one for a while, wouldn't it make your butt pretty hot? And you surely wouldn't want to sit on them with shorts on.
