Modern Winter Village

Since having babies we've started our family traditions in addition to carrying on ones we've grown up with. For this holiday season, we've been thinking about setting up a winter village in the window but don't love the traditional decorations we've seen.

This modern take on a winter village is just what we're looking for. Gather a few of these and weave in some tree lights and you're done. These poplar houses are available at Etsy seller somethingshidinghere's shop.

I love these.
I really wish I could find a modern manger scene. My mother and my mother-in-law keep on buying what they think is a modern manger scene and its more country.....eww.

I like these as toys or blocks, but not for a winter village. Too 'unwintery'.

These are kinda cute, but they strike me as very building blockish. I've been using my husband's hand-me-down winter village and while it's fine, something that's more "us" (both in the houses and in the nativity) would be awesome.

Thanks. While that is insanely out of my budget it could serve as inspiration. I do have a crafty uncle in Nashville that is retired.
