We're pretty sure we wouldn't drop $250 on a throw blanket, but the colors (and undoubtedly, the texture) of these mohair throws are just stunning.
Wikipedia says, "Mohair is one of the oldest textile fibers in use. It is both durable and resilient. It is notable for its high luster and sheen, and is often used in fiber blends to add these qualities to a textile. Mohair also takes dye exceptionally well."
That explains why we're so in love with the dove, paper, glacier, hot pink, hibiscus, and chocolate shades.
Available at Jayson Home & Garden for $250.

I bought some alpaca throws from a peruvian importer on eBay for $40 a pop. It was a total risk as you can't be sure what the exact shade would be (or how soft), but I just couldn't stomach the crazy prices I was finding at department stores for nice simple wool throw blankets. I figured if only one blanket worked out, I would still be up $80 to $100. They arrived in about a week and I couldn't be happier. Super soft. I think the sellers name was putco (or something like that...). I would suggest it as a great resource if you can't afford the department store premium.
A word of warning to everyone before making such an investment on something so beautiful....Although mohair is durable and resilient, many people are allergic to it. I would recommend getting a mohair scarf, or even a skein of mohair yarn, and wear it around your neck for a bit. You should be able to tell in a very short time if the mohair is irritating.
