Room for Color
I love the calm feel of this room.
I could hear people saying, "but it's all white!!". White is a color. I love it. Clean lined and I think those pop of grey color on pillow and rug really works w/ the rest of the room.
I'm glad the walls are a light gray. It really helps to distinguish all the white accents.
As a resident of another frequently foggy city -- Seattle -- I usually cruise right on by gray rooms, figuring there's enough gray in my life already thankyouverymuch. But this room is serene and beautiful and not at all gloomy. Well done!
Someone should tell Karl the Fog that he's an interior design muse!
It feels a little sad. I don't think it's the color as much as the lack of art. Some nice, large focal pieces would balance out the poster bed and add some life.
Personally, I like to have some pop of colour in each room. But I do think this room is very beautiful, the palette is fantastic and there's A LOT to be said for constraint. Great job, it must be a joy to wake up in this serene place every morning.
The hits of warm wood tones make the room, I think. This space exudes discipline and calmness.
I think that kind of bed is not made for this room (the room is too small and not in the right shape for it), and this room is almoust not for colour - even with these empty walls.
My association is a chamber/ storeroom with some not used things leaning against the wall....
Tranquil. What a bedroom should be.
Beautiful colors! Reminds me of a favorite BM color - Hot Spring Stones.
I like this room, but as a SF resident, I think its necessary to use brigher colors to pull through the fog. This rooms would just fade into the fog and clouds - which I guess would be a good thing as you're drifting off to sleep!
This is my style for a bedroom. Fresh, minimal and restful/non-stimulating. Beautifully done, Mollie!
I am completely and utterly in love with this room! Beautifully elegant and serene.
Thanks Elle and everyone else! I understand not everyone loves foggy weather, but I embrace it -- it feels like a nice calm hug. Can see more at www.homeandhabit.com!
I'm going to say it... where is the colour?
