Challenge: Decorating a studio into one cohesive space that functioned for having guests over, working from home, cooking, sleeping, and everything else!

I decorated it all in a span of four months, from move in until I started my new job, with a budget of $2,000.

I wanted to create a tranquil space utilizing blues, greens and gray, but also wanted to make sure it remained warm and inviting. The rug was actually the catalyst for some of the other design choices as well as a few pieces I have inherited over the years (the table). The biggest piece for me was making sure it didn't feel like a bedroom when you first walked in and that the space was functional as a home office and place for friends to gather.

I tried to do a mix of investment pieces (the buffet from West Elm) with some DIY, or budget-friendly ones (coffee table from IKEA) and to mix and match soft furniture with industrial-chic!

Thanks, Molly!
