- Inspiration for my palette:
- The Charley Harper prints were the inspiration for the explosion of color in this room. I loved all the bird prints in the "An Illustrated Life book", but I couldn't pick just 1 or 2, so I went with my 9 favorites paying no attention to a specific color theme.
- Colors used in my room
- Colors of Walls:
Sherwin Williams - Passive
Valspar - Rocky Bluffs
Colors in Accessories:
Box of Crayons ;-)
- Tips for using color successfully
- My best tip is to have fun with different hues, but be sure not to overwhelm the space. Do this by keeping either the walls OR the accessories colorful..not both. The "institutional" gray walls don't appear depressing at all thanks to the massive amounts of bold, bright, and happy colors.

So bright and fun. Can I ask where you found that rug?
Love this room! What a great space for spending time together.
The changing table is so cool!
Could you tell me where you bought it?
Thank you so much!
OMG, That Rug! :)
Wow! Thanks for the nice comments, y'all! The rug is from Ikea and is...wait for it...$50! The changing pad was purchased off Amazon.com and is called "Baby Cooshee."
What a cute clock - source?
Pretty and bright! I love the pink glow from the pendants. And the flowy curtains and the brightness everywhere. Very nice.
This is the best nursery ever. Will you come to my house and decorate mine for me?
i love the birds!
@Sepher - The clock was a Home Good gem. It's a repro George Nelson produced by Veritron, I think. Super cheap... like $30 or something.
I was JUST looking at that rug today and was like "man, I really want to see this in a room!" BAM! What an awesome nursery! Such a refreshing change of pace to too-much-gray-and-beige, over-designy kids rooms. It's fun and functional without looking a mess.
