There are tons of things that pair together nicely in this world. Peanut butter and jelly, socks and shoes or even Mr. Rogers and Mr. McFeely — but never did we wish our stroller was part scooter. Although it is built with extra safety measures, the thought of using it on a busy street just gives us the heebie-jeebies! Want to see it in action?
The scooter stroller, or rather "Roller Buggy," from designer, Valentin Vodev, functions as a quicker way to get from point A to point B. When you're not feeling like a scoot around town, the product can simply be reversed so that the carrier sits over the scooter platform and it looks like a (more) normal stroller.
Although we don't see a parent hopping in and out of traffic with one of these, we do appreciate the safety measures that have been added — such as an extra seat belt and double disc brakes to help slow to a stop safely. Although this idea is technically still in concept form (though there is a prototype), it's had quite a buzz around the internet lately, so don't be surprised if this "what if" product becomes next year's reality.

White Enamel Four-P...
OH.my.god.
All I have to say is, WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!
Totally awesome. My kids are older than that, though, so I'm pining away for a pedicab to take them to school and back. I realize a regular bicycle gets the job done, too, but--seriously--how cool would it be to own your own rickshaw? I think I'd paint it pink.
seriously?
this seems a little crazy, specially if you have a young baby. i could imagine the foot board getting in the way if you are just walking with it... like at the grocery store for example. also, does not have an under-basket, which is crucial for any mother. this seems like a foolish idea.
this is ridiculous
I have a friend who gets around town by pushing her kid in a stroller while she is on a skateboard. She's been doing it for years - says it's a lot faster, so it enables her to use the stroller at times that she would otherwise have to drive, and the kid loves it.
haha! This actually would have been great for me when I was a couple months into the recovery from my knee surgery. I was walking with a walker trying to push a stroller and it was a disaster.
That is awesome and terrifying at the same time.
Uh...no.
I am a child safety freak - but in this case, I say Ride On!
I kind of love it.
This looks like it would be unreasonably difficult to steer...other than that...I dunno, can't be any more dangerous than riding in a car...
I think that looks awesome! Sometimes walking places seems to take too long. (maybe I should stop and smell the roses more and not rush so much?)
I want this! How much? Where do I buy this? Who gets my money?
I like how there's not a real baby in the photos...like no one was crazy enough to lend them one.
Did anyone notice that the images with the woman had no baby in it AND the demo video used a doll.
It makes me wonder why they aren't using a real baby to show us out it works or in their pictures...
Things that make you go, "hmmm..."
i am kind of a klutz... this is just screaming recall to me!
Wow what if you fall and the stroller just keeps racing down???
To me its no different than a jogging stroller type of setup, is it? I can't see that its any more or less dangerous.
But it looks absolutely ridiculous. I can imagine laughing hard if I saw a woman or man scooting along happily on one of these. Adult scooter riding is pretty goofy!
i just have to say that is ridiculous! I've never understood why people have to be in such a hurry anyways ...... this is definatly not a good idea.
I wouldn't care if you saw me riding one and laughed. You watch, I'll have fun.
And this isn't about people in a hurry; it's called being active, getting outdoors, having a nice ride, using your legs for a change. Nobody told you you have to busy yourself on this and go fast or use it recklessly on busy streets.
I see many MANY adults riding scooters with their kids at parks, and it is lovely.
It makes me wonder why they aren't using a real baby to show us out it works or in their pictures...
Are you serious? It's a prototype.
Terrible idea
For a jaunt around the neighborhood? Hell yes!
Not everything has to be practical, people. Some things can just be FUN.
when I walk to the local shops with my youngest I dream of this!
I can't justify driving the short distance, so I always walk, but I'm always time poor. Love it!
it's insane, but i'd love one. it would be impractical on my crowded city's sidewalks! i can just imagine the sneers i'd get.
walking is so tedious. i'm one of those moms that zooms through the parking lot on the shopping cart with my three kids screaming "weee!"
i love it.
Yes!!!!! Love it!!!!!
I believe the Mamaboard has been in the U.S. for a while. It turns any stroller into a scooter/stroller. It may
be one of those things you have to order from Europe.
JulieR- Thanks for the heads up on the Mamaboard. My husband is German and now I'm actually upset that he didn't point this out to me before.
Before I had my daughter, I used to roll around the neighborhood on an adult-sized scooter my husband bought in Munich forever ago. It was great for getting around the neighborhood and hauling my groceries for me back uphill. Now I use my stroller (which we call the "SUV") for hauling stuff, but the ride downhill to the store and the farmers market would be so much cooler with this thing.
sold and sold.
love it. would love it even more for my toddler. he would have so much fun!!! wooo hooo.
i agree with other mommas....wheres the real baby. do they freak out at the speed? either way i say replace the baby seat with a toddler seat.
I want.
i like it. i go rollerblading with my jogging stroller.
I think it is a cool idea but I would be a little scared using it with an infant but for a toddler - yes
Thanks for sharing
Will have to blog about this

I'm torn deciding whether this is absolutely brilliant or if it should have made this list.
haha, but why doesn't the stroller have a real baby in it? in any of the pictures? must have been a safety concern in the photo shoot -- just for the shoot, it's safe in real life, just not while someone is taking photos.
there is a women on our block in nyc who rides double with her 8 year oldish daughter on an actual fullsize scooter. looks like a blast & a great way to get around.
Just saw stickyrice mama's reply to me...
It makes me wonder why they aren't using a real baby to show us out it works or in their pictures...
Are you serious? It's a prototype.
I'm glad beia agrees with me. I've worked on sets with prototypes before (for toy companies and retail establishments) AND using a child/baby demonstrating a prototype is usually ideal when an item is meant for that purpose. It's typical. It just seemed odd to me - prototype or not.
It looks more like "meet the safety hazard"
