Monday's are usually pretty hectic. I jump into the work week with a mile long to do list and jam packed schedule. Usually the weekends, especially Sundays, are my rest days but, with an unexpected visitor for the weekend that made it more lively than usual, I never got my rejuvenation time. So, with Valentine's Day falling on a Monday this year, I'm bowed out of any activities and taking care of my first love: ME! If you're planning to stay home, show yourself a little love. Here are some ideas for an indulgent night at home.
Dance Party with Karaoke: One of the things I love to do it put on some music and dance around the house. It feels good to get my yayas out with a little air guitar. Whole Lotta Love is often my starter song but after that, I put my iTunes on shuffle, use my iPhone to remote through what I'm not in the mood for and dance (and sing).
Spa Night: Now that I've knocked myself out, time to relax with a little at home spa time. Maybe I'll take a simple bubble bath or maybe I'll give myself a facial. And there is nothing like meditating in the bath; I can practically feel myself levitate.
Dinner Alone: Whether it's breakfast for dinner, dessert for dinner, something simple or something indulgent, homemade or take out, I'll eat exactly what I want. I might even eat it in bed!
Media Indulgence: Whether it's finally getting to watch all those Tivo'd shows, flipping through old magazines, delving in a juicy novel or surfing the web, getting into bed early for a little tete-a-tete with my chosen form of media is something I find ridiculously relaxing.
Go to Sleep Early…or Late: Often, when I'm having a recharge night, I'll find myself falling asleep early, relaxed after my tub time. But, just in case I stay up late because I'm just can't put down whatever I'm doing, I've always got some frozen cookie dough in the freezer, whether mine or someone else's (TJ's chocolate chips are a favorite!), to bake up and nibble in bed.

My husband is working the evening shift tonight, so I'm on my own. I'm making a cream of chicken soup & stuffing casserole (hello childhood!) which I will eat in front of some cheesy Netflix instant movie :)
I bought myself a dozen roses this morning at the grocery store. I'm not without valentines, I just wanted to give a special one to myself.
Self indulgence in good spirits beats the heck out of feeling all morose and dejected, that's for sure!
My partner and I have a unique relationship, but it includes ignoring Valentine's Day. Which suites me fine! Although I DO need some chocolate! Perhaps, however, the two things are not related!! ;^)
Today I received the 1/4 of a beef that I ordered a few weeks ago, so I'm spending Valentine's Day making lovely beef stock with my soup bones and organizing my freezer. Spending the evening listening to music and cooking is my kind of indulgence. :)
Monday's are usually...... get some grammar
