Nymphéas (1906), a large-scale canvas from Claude Monet’s “Water Lilies” series, sold for £31.7 million ($54 million) at Sotheby’s in London Monday night. It's the second-highest ever paid for a Monet; another "Water Lilies" canvas, Le Bassin aux Nymphéas, sold for $80.4 million in 2008.
