As a company, Monster is known for their cabling. They have now started tackling charging and powering your gadgets in an eco-friendly way with a new range of standby disabling power strips. The Digital Life PowerCenter GreenPower are aimed at being connected to your computer and its peripherals. Once you turn your computer off, all of the peripheral sockets get turned off as well. This first line has three different models, the MDP 650, 800 and 900.
The second line is to be used with home theaters. Monster has GreenPower versions of hte EPIR 2450, EPIR 3650, and the HDP 2550. These power strips are designed to work with a universal remote. The remote can be programmed with the right IR codes, and then with a click of only one button, your HDTV and the rest of your home theater system will simply be switched off. This will likely save you a lot on your power bills.
The only bad thing about these new power strips is that they are expensive. The MDP 650, 800 and 900 will set you back $70, $99 and $129 respectively. The PowerCenter EPIR 2450 and HDIR 2550 are an incredible $500 each. The EPIR 3650 will set you back $600. That's one expensive way of staying green. The outlets are available through the Monster Website.
