Soho has changed, but Mood Indigo's lockhold on 20th century vintage barware, dinnerware and art deco accessories remains. A small shop, the amount that Mood Indigo's owners, Diane and Bob Petipas, have stuffed inside will boggle you. For eye candy browsing, few other stores in Soho compare.

The specialty at Mood Indigo is Russel Wright, Eva Zeisel, Bakelite and Fiestaware. There is also metal barware, chotchkes from past world's fairs, NYC nightclub tableware and novely salt and pepper shakers that push kitsch to new levels.

Complaints? Prices are high and may scare off those who are not collectors and/or obsessed with this genre.

Frommer's Says: This dandy of a shop is the city's top dealer in glassware, dishware, and kitchen accessories from the 1930s through the 1950s.
