Moravian stars, artisan ornaments, books, and home decor (there's even a deli and a candy counter!)

The Moravian Book Shop in Bethlehem, Pa., is hands-down my favorite store to visit around Christmastime. Opened in another, nearby spot in 1745—yes, before the signing of the Declaration of Independence—this historic business has old-fashioned charm in spades.
In addition to selling books, the shop has a vast assortment of handmade glass Christmas ornaments and decorations—including my favorite, the Weihnachtsgurke. Most notable is the selection of Moravian stars, which you can buy in various sizes and materials. These too are handmade, and my favorites are the small origami ones made by locals and which make great, simple ornaments.
