It's no secret that we have a love for hanging beds. The idea of our kids not being able to shove their toys and dirty clothes under them is almost more thrilling than date night. This one makes a big statement, could hold an entire slumber party in the air and we're 100% completely in love and in awe of the handiwork!
You can find this totally rad creation over at Sticks and Stones Home Decor. We always appreciate parents who have a mission to create something awesome and seek inspiration from other sources to get the job done. For this project they examined the way swings are held up on front porches and went from there.
They've been kind enough to share the entire project from start to finish and it's totally doable at home assuming you have a spare bed frame laying around and are handy with tools (or know someone who is). The cabling system is less daunting than you think and we whole heartedly give this diy dream room two thumbs up!

I don't get a hanging bed like this unless it's in the middle of a room, away from all walls. What's the point of a hanging bed if it can't swing around? The sheet rock at the head of that bed is going to take a beating!
Everything about that photo is hideous, sorry!
To me this bed looks kind of dangerous, what if the kid falls off while sleeping.
Depends on their age. Probably not the best for say, a toddler who can't make it up there in the first place. I've always wondered though, why I've never fallen out of my normal height bed, nor known any of my friends to, but have flipped over the guard rail in a bunk-bed a few times. A room mate of mine in college had an especially funny nearly 7 foot fall.
I do agree that the placement of this one seems odd. Both the positioning of the bed itself and the height off the floor. The decor is cute, but the cabling always looks better to me with a more modern and minimalist style.
blahblahblah
What's not to get? What's not to love?
It's very creative and chic.
And the decor/bedding does not look like that of a toddler, so no worries there.
yuck
