Q: On a visit to Norway, a few years ago, I noticed that most traditional barns were decorated with ornamental aeration windows that looked like paper cut snowflakes. Shown above is a terrible example, shot from the window of a bus. I'd like to use a variety of these as a motif for block printing home decor fabric, but I cannot find examples of those, apart from the few blurry pictures I took. Any idea how they are named, and whether someone, somewhere, studied or catalogued those traditional patterns?
