This gorgeous rocker makes us feel extremely wanty. The glossy white paint. The modern, fresh fabric. And child-sized! Clearly we have a button-tufted soft spot in our hearts for upholstery makeovers. But if we'd seen it in it's original $6.99 Goodwill state, we may have kept on walking. Click below to see the "before".

Shelly Leer of ModHomeEc is an upholstery genius. She didn't keep walking. She stalked this chair and pounced on it. You can see the fascinating and inspiring step-by-step photo tutorial at Curbly. For more of her remarkable makeovers, tutorials, and DIY tips, give Shelly a visit at ModHomeEc. It's a perfect combination of home ec class, shop class, and chatting with friends over coffee and staple guns.

Beautiful!
Love! Love! Love! Not long ago I unburied my old Holly Hobbie rocking chair from my parents' garage and brought it home with great intentions of giving it a well-deserved makeover for my 3 yo daughter. So far it's just sat in the closet. This post is right on time. Headed over to check out her tutorials now!
Love it! But she doesn't mention the fabric source on her site...anyone have ideas on where to get similar fabric?
I got the fabric a while ago at Heritage Fabrics in Fort Wayne, IN. However, I recently saw it at Calico Corners in a different color. You may be able to order it. I wish I had more.
Well done!
Jealous! What a lovely chair.
