As apartments in urban cities get smaller and smaller it leads us to wonder, what items around the house can still be modified for diminutive living. We're all familiar with the Murphy Bed, but what about the Mosely Bath?
The Mosely Folding Bath Tub was manufactured in Chicago, Il. in the mid 1880’s. The one pictured here was recently being auctioned off on eBay and included a 10 gallon copper tank that sits in a solid maple cabinet measuring 29-by-25-by-77 inches. Obviously shower stalls are the ultimate space saving bathroom accessory, but stretching out in a tub after a long day's of work can be so relaxing.
If folding tubs were available now, would you consider replacing your stall with a 77 inch fold out tub?

No. No I wouldn't.
Interesting, i might consider it, but i can't see the point to saving the space. With a Murphy bed, i can see the value in folding the bed to free up room in the bedroom (or living room in a studio), but in a bathroom? Not like you can use the space for your sink or toilet... although... a sink on the back so you can fold it and slide it forward, now that might make sense.
Wow, what a beautiful object!
I can see this making slightly more sense if you stretched expectations a bit and didn't keep it in the bathroom. Like Javarod points out, you wouldn't do much with the room saved.
But say you have something like a rustic cabin retreat ... imagine having this in the main room, near the fireplace! When you're not using it you could prop it up and people would think it's just a cabinet, and then when they're gone you can pull it down for a relaxing soak close enough to still make s'mores. Awesome.
I suppose you could use the space saved if you kept it in the kitchen like they seem to be in the picture.
