We normally find kelly green paired with red in Christmas decor. We're partial to toning it down, though, with moss green for a little more natural look. For example:
• 1 a DIY'ed moss wreath by Get Your Martha On
• 2 a tiny felted bowl by thefuzzymonkey
• 3 a wood and moss Christmas creche
• 4 mossy green globe ornaments at Amazon

love it!

we've got a lot of the darker green both inside & out! you can see the outside of the house (2 posts down) where we planted little christmas trees in the window boxes & dressed them with garland. Personally, I've always been more of a earthy green fan than kelly green.
I made that same wreath with the reindeer moss - very cute! I put a chocolate ribbon on it - it was super easy and cheap to make.
I love moss - I just decorated our mantle with some (fake) moss-covered rocks for the holidays. I also made a version of this beautiful moss wreath from Neiman Marcus:

(I spent $18 on supplies; theirs is $215!)
Awwwwww yeah- stoner Christmas advent wreath here we come!!!
talby, i thought the same thing. then i saw what it really was, and was like.....aaw.
ooooh I love that square moss wreath robinette!!!
hmm, sensing another project on the way!
@ Cozylittlecave - very cute window boxes!! Your house looks great!
If you're going to try making the wreath, I used preserved "sheet moss" from Hobby Lobby (it was 50% off, making it $2/package - SuperMoss was the brand). You can make it look kind of "clumped" like the NM wreath by layering the pieces.
Next I'd like to try a boxwood wreath.
oooooh!! thanks for the tips robinette! I might just have to try that! :P And thanks for the compliments!
Love the subtle colour - so simple and stylish
Very nice. I like the natural decor as opposed to overly 'glitz'. It's simple and brings the outdoors inside. I can live with that long after the holidays.
