What makes an AT post controversial? We are talking about a design blog here, right? At Apartment Therapy we strive to bring you great ideas for your space, but sometimes a little bit of controversy (Kanye West and more Kanye West) rears it's ugly (but interesting) head. Often, a controversial post starts the best comments and conversations that go on and on (sometimes for an entire week). AT readers are great at chiming in with their strong opinions and this year was no exception--especially because of the election. So pop a bag of popcorn, pull up an Eames Chair and reminisce with us over the year's most controversial (but oh so fun) posts.

A couple particularly heated comment threads that stick out in my mind are the tiger pelt and decor in Mary's DC apartment and the hoopla over Maxwell's new sofa.
I've noticed that the editors delete critical comments even when those comments are inoffensive.
I have to agree with KTG that the fall colors contest was poorly executed, I found the whole contest hard to follow, and eventually stopped trying.
I've noticed on this site any post which has a fish in a bowl is bound for controversy.

Some of the things people argue about and get self-righteous about (trust me, we don't care) on this site is absolutely ridiculous.
