Now is the time of year we start packing away our winter clothes (a little later than usual actually, but we're not bitter). If we want to wear those clothes again in the fall, we also have to think about warding off moths before our wool sweaters leave our sight, and mind.
We found these sachets at Storables, and their contents are simple and fragrant — cloves, peppermint, rosemary and thyme. The claim is that each sachet works for 1 cubic foot of space, but we wonder if more bang for one's buck couldn't be had by recreating it on our own with fresh herbs.
$4 for two sachets here.

Container Store has a package of 24 sachets (looks like the same stuff) for less: http://www.containerstore.com/browse/Product.jhtml?searchId=14537847&itemIndex=1&CATID=72585&PRODID=59855
They might be smaller or something but they work well. I throw one in each space bag or sweater bag and my clothes don't get eaten and stay fresh.
mmmm....can you drink it as an herbal tea if you need refreshment from the hard labor of sorting and storing winter clothes?
and why not just try peppermint herbal tea bags as a substitute? it couldn't hurt!
i was thinking the same thing Pinko - why not just hang peppermint tea bags (complete with string) -- anybody know how well this works?
