Android phones have been equipped with high quality cameras that allow people to shoot great photos and videos for a couple years now. Smartphones with 8-megapixel cameras are becoming the norm. There's even been a full-length movie filmed with a smart phone, which got us thinking about the future of our equipment and how we continue moving towards one consolidated piece of technology.
We felt inspired by Olive: The Movie, a kickstarter project for a full-length movie that was shot entirely with Nokia N8 paired with 35 mm lens adapter. It made us realize that the video on our phones are no longer just used for fun snippets when we're out with friends, people are creating beautiful work with just a phone equipped with video capabilities.
Here are a couple other excellent shorts and videos we came across that are shot completely by smart phones.
Framed : This 3 minute short is shot with an iPhone 4S and edited by Final Cut Pro.
My Nokia N8 Experience: This clip is basically a 1.5 minute music video shot entirely with a Nokia N8, just like Olive: The Movie.
How do you feel about our smartphones progressively becoming more advanced and consolidating our needs into one piece of technology? Do you like having an all in one tech swiss army knife or do you still think we should use specific advanced pieces of tech in order to take photographs or shoot movies?
