Moxie: The Dachshund Of Fallingwater

Moxie: The Dachshund Of Fallingwater

Enjoy a tour of Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater courtesy of Moxie the doxie. Moxie was one of seven longhaired dachshunds (along with littermates Macho, Maggie, Mollie, Martha, Mira and Moss) who had the good fortune of spending weekends at Fallingwater with their owners, the Kaufmanns. Author Cara Armstrong is the Fallingwater Curator of Education and she is also responsible for the book's beautiful watercolor illustrations.

Moxie's playful history of the home includes lots of dog fun like swimming in streams and attention to architectural details, including the structure's cantilevered terraces and its relationship to the big rock. The final pages include a glossary of terms and more information on Fallingwater. It is a lovely book for children and adults, lovers of dachshunds and architecture buffs.

Find it at your local library, bookshop or purchase through the Fallingwater Museum shop (where you can also pick up a plush dachshund if you're so inclined).
