We recently ran across these photos on an old friend's Facebook page. What a great way to spend a summer afternoon with the kids. And free, too!
Amy, husband Dave, and son Archer live in Austin, Texas where the clay soil, as Archer discovered, is great for spontaneous sculpting. According to Amy, this awesome installation began as Archer began sticking twigs and leaves to the tree with mud and evolved into creepy faces "to keep the squirrels from crossing the creepy boundary so they'd leave the garden alone." A few globs of mud, a little help from mom and dad, and a lot of creativity. We totally love it. But we hope the squirrels were creeped out enough to stay away from the garden.
