A trip to Asia would not have been complete without a stop at Japanese retailer Muji. For those of us on the West Coast all we can do is drool over what ATNY reports on. So we hit up 2 stores: one in Kowloon and one in Hong Kong. All the pictures after the jump:

We love the displays and super simple products. It's even more inspiration to pare down and just have classic basics. You can order Muji products through their online store if you aren't near a physical store (the only stores in the US are in New York).

I used to live in London and thought Muji was kind of expensive (with the lousy exchange rate and all) even though I loved them. But after visiting Japan, I love Muji even more because it's actually affordable.
I think Asia's the last place where the dollar is worth anything.
I grew up in Hong Kong and was surrounded by all those cool things from Japan. I especially loved Muji! I lived right around the corner from Muji.
I had only a couple of Muji items (they were just too expensive for a high school kid), but now I wish I bought more. I wish I hadn't taken them for granted.
i just got back from japan and fell in love with muji there.
we ended up at a flagship retailer and even rented their bikes! everything was rather affordable and just fantastically pared down. my favourite thing that i had to bring back with me was their simplistic led flashlight that doubles as an absurdly (but not distractingly so) bright table light. amazing stuff.
I had to read through this posting twice; I thought you were being facetious. Ho hum, yes. Drool worthy?? Puhlease...
I really, really hope they open a West Coast store soon.
Also great at Muji... their kids clothes.
It really looks like IKEA, but cool becuase its all new to me.
I was thinking the same thing, Dahlia. It looks like an IKEA warehouse... with IKEA products...?
