• Resource Furniture's Goliath Table converts from a 17" deep console to and a 115" long dining table when you need it.
• I couldn't find information for purchasing the Madame Est Servie from Aïssa Logerot but I still had to include it here. I think the combination mirror/ironing board is so clever in a why-didn't-I-think-of-that kind of way!
• We've posted about the Knife & Saw Bike Shelf many, many, many times so it's probably no surprise that I'm including it in this list. A handsome wood shelf that also works as a bike holder - what is not to love?
• A dining table can eat up a lot of real estate in a small apartment. So can a coffee table for that matter. This convertible coffee table from Dwell is two tables in one. Coffee table by day, dining table by evening.
• When your home office is also your living room, keeping papers organized is the key to keeping clutter at a minimum. Ballard's File Storage Ottoman will make your paper trail a little shorter and give you a place to prop up your feet.
• Gregory brought the La Boite LD Series Laptop Dock Desks to our attention earlier in the week. The desk contains USB ports and speakers, making it the small space audiophile's dream.
• Swedish furniture maker Matroshka creates this amazing 4-in-1 furniture. The Matroshka expands from a simple raised study to include a lounge, dining space and even a bedroom - all in one piece of furniture.
• Tom Rossau makes another coffee table that transforms into a dining table. Made out of bamboo, Tossau's table unfolds to create a long, rectangular table.
• Judging by the photos the ORG Desk Bed is intended for a teen's bedroom. I think the design is basic enough that it would work equally well in an adult's studio apartment, too.
• The Peel Seating by Council Designs is convertible seating at its most basic.

What perfect timing for this post! I have been searching for an ottoman to put at the foot of my bed but was also headed to the Container Store this weekend to get an extra rolling file cart. With the Ballard filing storage ottoman, problem solved!
I love the Goliath. I saw a 'request a quote' button on the website. Does anyone know what a starting price for that would be?
Great post, Jason Loper! Thanks for a list full of smart products that I probably never would have encountered on my own. The Goliath made my jaw drop.
Goliath is somewhere between $9-$15K, and comes with several leaves to store. I wish they would have put some moderate priced options on this list, and not all high end pieces.
For those interested in the Goliath table, Sabrina Soto used it in her show High/Low Design (it was in the high-end design) and they actually DIY'd a version for the low-end design. The slides had to be ordered online (no mention where of course), but its otherwise a very basic design.
#6 looks horrifically uncomfortable, even for short periods of time.
LLeigh125 - you could just do what I did - go to Office Max and get drawer inserts to hang file folders on and then go to Target and get a storage ottoman that fits. Cheaper, faster, and you'll be sure you get what you want.
Is the Dwell table even available stateside? It looks ugly to me as a coffee table. There are still ligne roset knockoffs of the convertible table available. I'm not sure most of the knockoffs are worth the hefty (if lesser) price tag.
I found this on Etsy, but I don't know anything about it:

HEATHERC - thank you so much for the creative solution! I can now get this project completed this weekend, & Office Max/Target will definitely be faster & cheaper than going through Ballard.
On the Sabrina Soto show they mentioned that the extensions that the Goliath used were proprietary, so they actually used ordinary extension slides in making the 'low' version. They ended up with a console a little deeper than the 15" console, but it was still a wonderful idea.
Rockler Woodworking has them, I believe. Or just google 'extension slides'.
ORG desk bed looks like a piano =)
I just bought three seagrass-wrapped "stools" from Pottery Barn. They look great in a row as a coffe table, can be split up into moveable coffee or end tables, and best of all, are sturdy seating for parties or whatever. They have an "X" base so they are groovy looking too. And the price is great, I think they were $129 each or something like that. Highly recommdend!
I think the leaf storage kind of undermines the "space saving" concept of the Goliath, even though I love the look. Imagine carefully storing the 10 or so leaves so none of them chip or scratch. I have ONE leaf for my dining table and it's heavy and bulky and awkward to store -- it fits on one side of my coat closet (thank goodness I HAVE a coat closet!) Not sure where to put the number of leaves required for the Goliath...
@ProfKD
I think the dwell convertible looks way worse as a dining table ಠ_ಠ
I prefer the boconcept convertible (no idea about quality and ATers seem to have a poor opinion of the service).
... ok, the boconcept one is a lot more expensive, apparently, but I've seen others with a similar conversion mechanism around for like $500, I think.
