When you are getting ready to watch your favorite movie or playing your favorite game, it's usually great to have a specific seat in which you can get really comfortable. It's important that these technological chairs mesh in with the rest of your living room. You can't just have this one chair upsetting the look and feel of your media room. That's one of the reasons why we don't think that the giant multimedia chairs will ever work in such spaces. They just mess up how everything else looks.
There are a quite a number of multimedia seats available. None of them that we've seen are able to fill the simple need of having a really comfortable and wired chair that looks great in a variety of decors. To us, this chair can fit in a lot of differently designed rooms. It solves a few problems while still looking good. For one thing, it gets you really close to the action. It's always best to be at an optimum distance from you HDTV. Most homes place the TV sets at one end and the sofa at the other. There is always that sweet spot in your living room, that one spot where everything seems to work great. It's in that spot that we think this multimedia chair will fit. First of all, it's not expensive. Forget spending thousands of dollars on this type of seat. This chair will set you back a couple of hundreds.
The MUR-01 is a technological rocking chair from Japanese manufacturer Irisohyama. It comes with a built-in 8.5-watt 2.1 speaker system that will rock your body to the sounds of music stemming from your home theater. This can be fun to have if you are watching a movie or playing video games. The chair comes with analog input as well as analog output, as well as a headphone jack. The speakers on either side of this chair have an output of 2-watts each. There is a 4.5-watt subwoofer and amplifier mounted inside. The chair needs to be plugged in, but that's something you can easily compromise with thanks to the convenience of this chair. Not the first of its kind but would have been complete with a concealed iPod dock along with dedicated controls and a display on the arm rest. This multimedia chair can also be used to simply hook up your iPod and read a book in comfort. That's the other thing that we really like about this seat. You can use it in a variety of ways.
What's really cool about this chair is that it won't break the bank. We've seen chairs with speakers that cost a few thousand dollars. The MUR-01 will set you back about $200 and will be available in mid-July in Japan. It's not the first of its kind and would have been complete with a concealed iPod dock along with dedicated controls and a small display on the arm rest. Oh well, you can't have it all.
