In this large, open floor plan apartment, mom and wife Tanie wanted a kid-friendly space for little ones to call their own. Tanie provides child care in her home and really needed a space that was as fun as it was functional. Check out all the details after the jump!
With normal wall murals, our first thought it always, "That's cool, but what about 10 years from now?" The personalized sections of this mural, are all done on canvases that can later be removed, exchanged or added to. This makes for an easy format that is later adjusted to fit the family's tastes and design choices.
You can see more about this space and Tanie's adventures over at Unicorn Parade! There's so many great diy aspects to this site, we just can't do them all justice!

The chairs are GREAT...where are they from?
Thank you for posting my living room here :D
aspenchick: I got the little beanbag armchairs from a store here in Vancouver called Urban Barn about a year ago; however they don't seem to be carrying them anymore. They were made by Torre & Tagus.
Thanks for having a great space Tanie! Everything looks quite lovely and is a great place to be a kid (or an adult!)!
Oh, man...now I'm on a mission to find those chairs, or something similar...or a pattern to make them myself!
Awesome room!
