Musical instruments at home can be so much fun when it comes time for holiday entertaining. You know, carols on the piano, singing with friends, relaxing to the music of an acoustic guitar. Here, we've rounded up an orchestra of musical instruments spotted in homes from Apartment Therapy House Tours.

the oboe/clarinet lamps are amazing!!
I love the bongos. And in an apartment! Gotta give them credit!
We have our clavinova in the corner. Sometimes the cat plays it.
Instruments are often just extremely aesthetically appearing. I like it when my bf leaves out his acoustic guitar, the wood adds a nice bit of warmth to a corner...

Perfect timing!
I just bought a new electric guitar - one reviewer stated "if George Jetson played surf rock, this is the guitar he'd use" and I instantly fell in love. It's the Dead on '67 in butterscotch color: http://www.danelectro.com/guitars_main.html
But, where to put it?
Then I remembered the 3 X 4 foot antique maple-framed mirror I have that just doesn't work anywhere. Well, I'll take out the old mirror glass, cover the hardboard backing with some cool retro fabric, reattach the gorgeous aged maple frame, then bolt the whole thing to my wall with a guitar hanger I just bought.
Whenever I'm not playing my guitar, it will be framed art!
I love the clarinet pendant lamps (or are those oboes?) I made 2 clarinet table lamps but never considered pendants. I may have just found my dining room lighting solution.
Uh, anyway of cleverly integrating a guitar amp into the decor?
Or trombones? Yes, plural.
Where's the brass love?
I love clarinets, too. But as a musician and music teacher, I sure hope those were no longer functional before they were made into lamps.
And yes, I have a trumpet lamp. A gift from a good friend from my days of instrument repair. :-)
