Must-See Design TV: Eero Saarinen Documentary Airing 12/27 on PBS

Set your DVRs: PBS is airing the Eero Saarinen installment of American Masters on December 27.

Eero Saarinen: The Architect Who Saw the Future premiered earlier this year when it headlined the Architecture and Design Film Festival in New York.

Eero's son, Eric, served as the director of photography and co-producer, and the documentary features rare archival interviews with Eero and his second wife, New York Times art critic Aline Saarinen.

"This film is both an immersive look at an architect's work and a father-son story across generations. Once Eric agreed to go on this journey with me, I knew the results would be compelling and revealing," producer and director Peter Rosen told Editor at Large.

In fact, the PBS trailer below talks about how Eero and his father Eliel both entered projects in the competition for the St. Louis monument:
