My Favorite Children's Book:
Danyelle Mathews

Name: Danyelle Mathews
Online home: Dandee
My favorite children's book and why I love it: In elementary school my best friend and I read every poem in Shel Silverstein's collection over and over to each other. Oftentimes with funny accents for added drama. Even now, when I see those very same copies of Where the Sidewalk Ends or Light in the Attic on my bookcases I can't help but get a little homesick for that time in my life. The poems are fun, simple and silly-exactly the way childhood is meant to be.

My children's favorite books: Oliver's favorite (3 years) - Stuck by Oliver Jeffers
Audrey's favorite (5 years) - Lily's Purple Plastic Purse by Kevin Henkes
Owen's favorite (8 years) - Flat Stanley by Jeff Brown
Abigail's favorite (10 years) - The Penderwicks by Jeanne Birdsall
Easton's favorite (12 years) - Wildwood and Under Wildwood by Colin Meloy

Illustrators I adore: Maurice Sendak, Nikki McClure and Carson Ellis. It's a guarantee I'll purchase anything they've illustrated.

If my life were turned into a children's book the title would be: If You Give A Mother Some Chocolate

Thanks Danyelle!

More Danyelle: I have a feeling Danyelle gets more done by the time I wake up than I accomplish all day. Mother to five kids, she writes the excellent Dandee blog, filled with inspiring crafts, projects, tutorials and all around goodness.
