My Favorite Children's Book:
Megan Hoskin

Name: Megan Hoskin
Online home: Mousehouse
My favorite children's book and why I love it: The Lion in the Meadow by New Zealand author Margaret Mahy. This was one of my favourite stories when I was little and has become one of my children's favourite too which is pretty special. Whenever I do a day's teaching I bring this book along as it is such a wonderfully imaginative and timeless story - amazing to think it was first published in 1969!

My children's favorite books: Amelie (5 years) loves The Nickle Nackle Tree by Lynley Dodd - a fabulous rhyming and counting book. Stella (3 years) loves The Gruffalo by Julia Donaldson. Jack (18 months) loves the fun board book Roadwork by Sally Sutton.

llustrators I adore: I love Richard Scarry's Busy Town illustrations and Miroslav Sasek's series of children's travel books.

If my life were turned into a children's book the title would be: The Big Ideas Book...this was actually my favourite craft/activity book when I was little (now unfortunately out of print) and it must have sparked something as I don't seem to go a day without a big idea or two!
