Name: Melissa Esplin Online home: ISLY/I Still Love You My favorite children's book and why I love it: Bruno Munari's Zoo - My mother-in-law bought this for Penelope & the moment I saw it, I fell in love. The clever illustrations are much like art pieces that can be deconstructed & critiqued as art. The words are adorable & simple - Penelope loves to read it to me & kiss the animals just before I turn each page.

We're celebrating books all week long and, once again, we've asked some of our favorite bloggers about their favorite children's book, illustrator and more. Read on…

Penelope's favorite book: At the moment it's The Foolish Tortoise - she loves the illustrations & cheers up the turtle when he's sad, wet and cold; by singing twinkle, twinkle little star. So sweet. (Felix doesn't have any favorites yet)

Illustrators I adore: Charley Harper, Sandra Boynton, Dr. Seuss.

If my life were turned into a children's book the title would be: The Dot - Penelope knows that she can do anything, she's so inspiring to me & she really pushes me to do as much as I can & make my mark during her nap time. If I put my mind to something & time into it, I can accomplish it. I'd be a lazy son of a gun if I didn't have Penelope & Felix to push me every day.

Thanks Melissa!

More Melissa: We first met Melissa when we toured Penelope's Pearl of a Room and we became hooked on her blog ISLY, full of style, design, fashion and calligraphy.
