Name: Nicole Balch Online Home: Making It Lovely My favorite children's book and why I love it: Charlotte's Web by E.B. White. My grandparents gave it to me for my eighth birthday, and I dove into it the next morning immediately upon waking. I was halfway through the book before my mom came up to look for me, wondering why I hadn't come downstairs for breakfast yet.
To celebrate Learning at Home month, we've asked some of our favorite bloggers about their favorite children's book, illustrator and more. Read on…

My daughter's favorite book: Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs by Judi Barrett, illustrated by Ron Barrett. This one is supposed to be way past Eleanor's age range (9-11, and she's only 1), but she absolutely loves this book right now. She crawls up into the rocking chair in her room and "reads" it while babbling and flipping through the pages, and it's the only book she'll let us read to her before bed.

A children's book illlustrator I adore: Miroslav Sasek. He did all of the "This is ________" books with different cities and countries, and the art is so charming. This is Paris is my favorite.

If my life so far were turned into a children's book the title would be: The Lady Who Was Busy But Happy

Thanks Nicole!

More Nicole: We've always been a fan of Nicole's blog and even more so since her daughter, Eleanor, arrived on the scene which means more great kid-related ideas! Check out her idea for a stylish living room toy container, her method of organizing and storing outgrown kids' clothes and Eleanor's small and beautiful nursery. Keep visiting Making It Lovely as we suspect lots more child inspiration is to come as Nicole and her family prepare for the arrival of a second child! Congratulations!
