Tell us about your outdoor project and how you enjoy it: I tried reusing and re-purposing used milk cans and yogurt containers from my kitchen and my friends' kitchens. I'm growing a kitchen garden with okra, tomatoes, chillies and herbs such as fennel, cilantro and mint. I also added a DIY bird bath and feeder to the whole set up. Loved the whole experience!
How did you create it?
Used milk cans and yogurt containers as planters; an IKEA stand as a space saver; clay pots and saucers for the bird feed; old plates and trays as saucers for my plant pots.
Recommended store, site, product or resource?

i'm working on this right now.
i've painted cinder blocks and planks of wood for the shelving. have not considered the pots yet - so this is probably a good option. although, i would probably want to paint mine. [i think i'm going paining mad...]
but really i wanted to comment so say i LOVE alpharetta georgia. visited my friend's family there a few times and i think it's so charming!
Sudha ,
It really looks great .Cool balcony garden :)
Great use of the Ikea shelving. I had envisioned doing a similar vegetable garden with that very same shelving, using even the sides rails to grow bean stalks. Maybe next year.
the shelf is a great addition to the balcony
Seeing little seedling and baby shoots always makes for a compelling story. What will you do when the tomatoes and other plants have reached maturity and started producing? That's a very small space for the amount of stuff you planted.
Loved the way you have utilized the available space. The shelf and the recycled containers. The highlight is the bird feeder/ bath. You always inspire me that where there is a will there is always a way. Keep up the good work.
Sudha akka..

Thank u people for all the comments...right said williams...my intention was to encourage people around me to re use things. I wanted to start the process and pool in people, their spaces and efforts...so am scouting for people to adopt my saplings....any takers? :)
Hi Sudha!
That is so cool and awesome stuff you did... I knew you were always active in the 'go green' projects. today, you presented one more fabulous example how to make our lives and others lives better:)
I love your bird bath/feeder--I'm going to use your idea to make one for our backyard today! Thanks.
Hi Sudha,
This is really cool stuff you are doing specially the recycling part. I have recently got into recycling things and being green. I just started a small garden in my balcony. Hope I can get lot of inspiration and advice from you. Thanks for sharing!

wooooooooowwwwwwww, that is so cute. Oh my god, your balcony looks awesome. I had been struggling to find time to login but I am glad I did. Give yourself a big hug, u are in that 2% people who are called creative. Try some climbers, they will add to the beauty. And recycling, go green etc, your balcony shows how much u believe in it.
