The swimming pool is for the Embassy staff. The Danish Embassy was the first modern Embassy buildling in Washington, DC and was officially opened in 1960.
Recommended store, site, product or resource? The white marble is from Greenland. The materials represent Danish design and architecture.

Shaw's Original Fir...
So beautiful. I am sorry the US Ambassador's Residence here in Kuala Lumpur is not so thoughtfully designed.
I would love to have a garden like this. Beautiful!
I am underwhelmed. Poor connection between the formal garden and the patio for one. The other disaster being the multiple styles of average-at-best furniture that come no where near to filling out the patio and creating a comfortable space. What appears to be a cool house on a great piece of property did not meet it's landscape potential.
This is a very Danish garten. My mothers is build up aorund the same concept with the roses.
@Articulate Form - Kind of a house, kind of not a house. It's the Danish Embassy, so people actually work here even though the ambassador lives here as well. The furniture, while perhaps not being the most elegant, is functional, and is actually pretty understandable given that this building doubles as work space.
Is this just a re-post from a couple years ago with no new information? Friis Arne Petersen is no longer the ambassador.
(I will say the swimming pool for Embassy staff is pretty cool.)
I'm underwhelmed too, especially being Danish having seen some amazing work spaces using incredible designs. The building looks very corporate and representing a style of architecture I'm personally not a fan of, nothing like a home, and the garden is the opposite, very informal with goals for the kids and the playhouse. Find it strange actually.
I've been fortunate to visit the Swedish embassy and that was incredible. They have a tennis court at the back of the garden, and it was rumoured that one of the presidents would come to play there as it was a very private. Bet there's a ton of great stories like these from all sorts of embassies around the world...
