Name: Angel's Garden Location: San Francisco
Type of space: Deck
Tell us about your outdoor project and how you enjoy it: This was a deck that had nothing going for it and I decided to make it my "Little piece of Heaven". I started to work on it about a year ago and then got so excited about the outcome that I started a little business called "Angel's Garden". I strictly do container gardens for patios and decks in San Francisco. It is a source of great pleasure to work on my space, to tend to it, and to change it from time to time. It takes me away from the everyday stresses of the world. When I'm working out there the time just flies by. PURE JOY
How did you create it?:
I painted the railing yellow and floor blue (my favorite colors), put in an outdoor rug and started to collect beautiful containers and pots that I picked up at garage and estate sales. Added some lovely chairs that I recovered and a table that I stripped and decoupaged. I have grown everything from annuals, perennials, and vegetables on my deck with great success.
Recommended store, site, product or resource?
I get most of my flowers from Home Depot and Target. They both have a great selection and are reasonably priced. I've become familiar with the staff at both of these stores and can call them if I need something specific for my deck or for a clients deck.

Gorgeous colors!
Very cute! How do you deal with the wind with all those little pots on the ledge? I'd love to do something like that to my deck, but my pots have to be on the floor, because the winds just rips right through.
Who needs coffee in the morning when you have sunshine on your deck like that! Beautiful! :)
Absolutely gorgeous! Those colors are spectacular.
Thanks for sharing.

Holy cow. This is the first "My Great Outdoors" posting I've actually read, this is so fun. This is happiness on a porch :)
Very pretty in a "Mary Engelbreit illustration come to life" kind of way...you must have TWO green thumbs.
How funny! I saw this on marthastewart.com and included it in a post on my site a couple of days ago. Super green thumb!
This is spectacular! So bright and happy!
I know what you mean by time flying by while working in the garden. It takes a lot of time to keep it looking well tended -- dead-heading takes me an hour some days -- but it's so enjoyable and completely worth the time.
A container gardening design/build business? intriguing! is there much of a market for that in SF?
