The more the merrier at this equal parts artsy and spooky party. Lida and Charlie describe: This was our second annual Halloween party. We invited friends, Mikayla's Kindergarten class, and a few of Savannah's friends and were expecting almost 40 children! Charlie is a stay-at-home dad artist and went all out for this Halloween party.
Many of the decorations we had from last year's party that we had made, along with some new ones we made this year, and a few from Target and the dollar store. We handmade most of the things from cupcakes to invites to games and decorations. Charlie painted a lot of the decorations on found wood he cut to shape and also even some were on cardboard!
We found hay on Craigslist and just paid for the gas to have it delivered to our house. Since we live in Portland, the weather is always unpredictable, so last minute, we had to open up our house (at first it was going to be all outdoors) and borrowed a tarp from our neighbors to have a covered area over our driveway.
The games we had were throwing a "severed foot" into a bucket, toss the "zombie meat" hopscotch, bean bag toss, trying to eat gummy worms hanging from the ceiling, a pinata, tug-of-war with granny (which was Charlie), and limbo. Charlie thought up most of the games and ideas for decorations. I make the cupcakes and sewed the kids' costumes (they were gnomes). Everyone had a blast and it truly helps having a creative mind in the house!
Thanks Lida & Charlie! It looks like a blast! Readers, see more of the Halloween fun on Bubbers and Moo and make sure to check out Charlie's site (remember these monster push toys?), The Legendary Charlie Alan Kraft.
