"Just think of happy things, and your heart will fly on wings, forever, in Never Never Land!" Miranda shares the wonderful details of her young friend's recent birthday party: A friend of mine Leah, asked me to help with her daughter Abbey's fourth birthday party. Abbey is a big fan of everything Peter Pan, so we went with that!Everybody got a copy of the book with their invitation so they would know the story when they got to the party.
We wanted the look to be simple, but unique, and for the party to have lots of activities for little hands. Abbey loves the part of the story where Peter Pan and Tinkerbell teach the kids to fly in the nursery so we tried to focus on that aspect of the story.
Most of the elements of the party were handmade, including: a felt feather garland, hand cut felt silhouettes, drawstring fabric bags, handmade Peter Pan hats (the feathers on the hats were handmade out of tissue paper too!), miniature fabric tee pees, coloring books and fabric pirate ship cupcake toppers.
The kids had a blast sprinkling "pixie dust" on their cupcakes (sparkly sprinkles), coloring in their coloring books and watching the Disney Peter Pan movie. Leah also had an alligator pinata. The kids went home with compasses and wooden treasure chests in their hands.
It was so much fun planning this party. Happy Birthday Abbey!
