It looks like sisters Abigail and Lilly Grace had a rollicking good time at their cowgirl party! Their mom, Rachel, gives us the scoop: We usually shy away from over-the-top birthdays, but this year, we decided pony rides were in order.
Abigail & Lilly Grace's shared birthday party took place at Serenbe Stables, right here in our neighborhood. The girls both adore Jessie from Toy Story, and the Stables seemed the perfect location for our cowgirl-themed party. The Stables were a beautiful backdrop, and not a lot was needed for decorating such an amazing space.
I drew up the Jessie invitation and made the banner using drawings I did of Abigail and Lilly in Adobe Illustrator. I ordered the cake simply iced with buttercream and decorated it myself with boxed fondant. (It wasn't quite as easy as working with play-dough, as I'd heard...) The toppers are (clearly) store bought, and I used Jessie's plastic red hat as the finishing piece. The cake was inspired by this link.
The pony rides (thank you, Lolipop!) were the hit of the party. We feasted on Cowgirl Chili, and we grown ups drank the Rootinest Tootinest Two-Buck Chuck in the Wild, Wild West. I made my own wine labels on printer sticker paper. Two types of cornbread served in cast iron skillets and all the chili fixins sat on cow print bandanas atop a burlap table runner.
The girls and all of our guests had so much fun, and October here in Atlanta is just perfect for being outside. My amazing mom created the Jessie costumes, and the girls loved wearing them.
Thanks Rachel!

My daughter just had a horse-themed birthday, which you can see photos of here and here.
I also wrote up some ideas for a Toy Story-themed party last spring here.
This is adorable!!!! For my son's 1st birthday we had a cowboy theme, if I had a girl this would be my 1st choice...great job!
