Warning: monster parties may lead to breakdancing. Melissa sent in photos of her daughter Addie's fourth birthday party: For as long as Addie has had an opinion on things, I've let her choose the theme for her birthday party. This year, she wanted a monster party.
Since her birthday is just after Halloween, we tried to stay away from anything too Halloweeny (i.e. orange and black, pumpkins, ghosts, etc.). The homemade invitations and cake featured purple and green monsters that coordinated nicely with the purple and green balloons, we danced to "Purple People Eater," we drank green soda with our pizza, and we colored homemade coloring books filled with silly monster pictures. Instead of taking home goody bags filled with candy or tiny toys, each party guest got a monster t-shirt made just for them!
Thanks, Melissa!
