Sure, great photography helps, but this is one of the loveliest no-budget parties we've seen! Rebecca tells us more: My youngest daughter Alivia turned one on January 8th and even though we're living far from family (we are living on the Caribbean island of Sint Eustatius but our roots are Canadian) and the resources available to me were few and far between I still wanted to throw her a cute first birthday party.
This little party came together from literally nothing. I gathered the items I could find around the house as well as a few beautiful pink flowers to throw this simple party together for my baby. (I still can't believe she's already one!)
Living on a small island means not a lot of shopping venues and so I was forced to get creative with the decorations, gift wrapping, etc. Everything I created was within a $0.00 budget. Using brown lunch bags for gift wrap, fresh flowers growing in the yard to create a flower garland, a simple handmade bunting and even a baby blanket doubling as a tablecloth. It certainly wasn't a fancy party but the simple little touches helped make this special birthday so memorable.
Thanks Rebecca! Readers, find Rebecca's beautiful blog here.

Howard Butcher Bloc...
This is my favorite party post so far. So simple, so pretty, so NOT about the "stuff". Love it!

Beautiful. It seems there was a photographer at the party.
gorgeous photography. And party styling! An inspiration!
Amazing photos, beautiful baby.
I love photography and photographing my children. I use a Canon T1I, but I am looking for something more professional, what type of camera do you use?
@JulieR correct me if I am wrong but I think the mum was the photograper...???!!!
Beautiful pics and lovely mumma and bubba... I don't like pink and I thought this was FAB...
Love it. Goes to show how the memories left over from this day aren't about the "stuff" that was used. I love the simplicity.
