Won't it be nice if Gabe always has such enthusiasm for this hobby! His mother Meg tells us more about this unique party: If there is one thing our son, Gabe, loves it's vacuums! We thought it fitting that his special day should be filled with what he loves to do...clean :)
Games and activities all carried the clean theme. Kids were given personalized buckets filled with sponges, spray bottles, brushes, micro-fiber cloths, and bubbles. With "Happy Birthday" written on the fence, rocks and kids picnic table with chalk; kids were encouraged to wash the chalk away with their sponges. A water table was filled with bubble soap to splash and play in. We feasted on peach-chipotle salsa and chips, Carne Asada (shhh! it was from Trader Joe's!), grilled veggies and make-your-own tacos. Margaritas kept the parents happy while kids sucked down juice boxes like there was no tomorrow.
The big surprise of the day came with the birthday cake that was a 3 foot shaped vacuum! "OH MY GOSH! IT'S A VACUUM!!!" Gabe squealed with delight when he saw his delicious birthday treat. We found an AMAZING cake maker in the Seattle area who was excited and willing to create such a bizarre request ;) Holly at Zeum Cakes made a masterpiece chocolate cake with fresh strawberry frosting detailed with lemon flavored fondant. Not only did the cake look good, it tasted even better!
After munching on cake and Mexican Ice Cream Sundaes, Gabe's friends all helped in opening the gifts. Our tummies were filled with great food and we spent the day in the sunshine laughing with friends...a great time was truly had by all :)
