Perhaps the only bugs you want at your party are ladybugs. Patience shares her daughter's sweet celebration: Ginny's third birthday in late August was a ladybug party. Ladybugs by nature are so graphic and party ideas can be very creative.

I designed a simple invitation to be emailed in order to save paper/trees. We served all sorts of homemade organic salads, pink fruit juice punch and pink frosted cupcakes with brown m&ms (not organic).

I painted my old childhood picnic table red and added black spots. I decorated generic party hats with cut out circles and pom poms. The flags were created with assorted pink and red fabric swatches to be used as garland and hung individually from the clothesline. As an "outdoor inspired" activity, the kids painted and decorated wooden masks -- flowers and ladybugs. As a "green" thank you, the guests took home reusable sandwich/snack bags purchased from Etsian Nattie's Stuff -- pink with ladybugs, of course.

Thanks Patience!
