Grayson had a Big Top birthday! His mom Sarah describes: Months before Gray's birthday I found a little vintage (1956) alphabet book while scouring my local Goodwill for treasures. The words were all circus-related, and I decided I would use it as inspiration when it came time to plan his 2nd birthday party.
I used the images from the book to make a banner that hung across the fireplace and continued the vintage feel by displaying wooden circus puzzle pieces and Little People clowns I played with as a kid. (Thanks, Mom, for keeping them!)
Food included cupcakes (Naturally Nora mix and icing) with gumballs on top, popcorn in vintage-style bags, shell-on peanuts, peanut butter & jelly sandwiches cut in the shape of elephants and dancing bears, and animal crackers. To drink we had bottled root beer with paper straws. Favors were white-chocolate dipped oreos on a stick (which I also used in the centerpiece) from a local bakery. Printable invites and Gray's upcycled "2" shirt were purchased on Etsy.
Gray had fun, and was most interested in his favorite present of all: "trike!" :)
