All this party's missing is the robot dance! Jessica tells us more about her son's fantastic party: Henry's first birthday was robot themed, with lots of turquoise, orange, and yellow and plenty of handmade robot decor.

We made a robot centerpiece out of paper wrapped boxes, a craft store "paint can" and lots of fun hardware store finds (inspired by Hostess with the Mostess's robot centerpiece). My sister-in-law created the birthday banner with duct tape and funny robot characters. I baked a robot cake and cupcakes inspired by Ohdeedoh reader Stephanie's robot cake design for Creed and using Smitten Kitchen's yellow birthday cake recipe and her Swiss buttercream frosting recipe with lemon curd filling.

We also had a robot craft table set up, where guests could create their own robot to bring home with them. We provided them with cardboard robot cut-outs (purchased from a local craft store) that we painted to match the party, pipe cleaners, nuts and bolts, foam shapes, and googly eyes.

Happy Birthday Hurricane Hank!

Thanks Jessica!

We love a good party! We just put together a new "My Party" Submission Form. If you'd like to share the good ideas and photos from your child's celebration with the Ohdeedoh community please submit through the form found right here.
