For those about to rock: Julee shares details of her son's creative birthday party: We recently threw a Rock n Roll themed birthday party for my son's 4th birthday. Jason (and his father) are really interested in all things music, so we thought it would be a perfect theme.

I created invitations using vintage records (which was inspired by an article on Momtastic. For the party activities, I created a "Mod Your Guitar" station where kids could decorate large paper guitars.

Afterwards, we moved on to the stage where the kids could play on a drumset and other musical instruments. The stage set was inspired by a Crewcuts window display: I used large packing boxes and circle shapes to create giant speakers. I found a Rock Band drum set at a thrift store and painted it silver to match the party colors. My husband also built an orange toybox amp based on this Ohdeedoh post.

The kids had a blast - especially Jason. While planning the party, I didn't find a lot of ideas related to children's music/rock parties online, so I thought your readers might be interested.

Readers, there's more to see of this rock n roll party - head over to Warm Hot Chocolate for more details and see more photos here. Thanks Julee!
