Anchors aweigh to Mateusz' (pronounced Mateoosh) party! Andrea fills us in: Our little man turned two on March 1st and we organized a small, budget-friendly, hand-made sailor party. We went for a theme that was easy to craft at home and which included one of the things our toddler loves the most: boats.
I made a "mural" with craft paper from the Dollar Store the night before the party and pasted the pieces with glue dots on the wall behind the main table. It was a super easy project and it gave the whole room a festive and happy feel. I also "branded" the different elements of the party (like party hats, cups, and party blowers) by downloading free fonts and creating small stickers with nautical elements and the number 2. I printed them, cut them and pasted them on the different things I wanted to brand. Again, it was a cost-effective and easy way of personalizing the party.
We had a small "photo corner" with some props which was very popular among our guests. I made some speech bubbles in my computer with birthday phrases ("Happy Birthday!", "We love you!", "Yay!", "You are two!", "Two is old") and attached a wooden stick (for kebabs) so guests would hold them over their heads.
The yummy cake (golden cake with strawberries) was incredible. We ordered it from Dufflet . Their cakes are delicious! We had a great time during the party!
