Belinda admits to going a bit overboard on her son's birthday party. As if that's a bad thing! She tells us more: Hugh's nursery is owl inspired so I decided to continue with the theme but expanded on the idea by incorporating a Woodland theme (including gnomes & toadstools). I also wanted to avoid the cliche' green/brown/orange colours so went for red, navy & aqua (which were also the colours in H's nursery).

I tried to channel my inner party queen (Bakerella, TomKat Studio & Amy Atlas) and made everything from invites to decorations to food. I set up a sweet table which included mushroom toadstools, chocolate crackles, chocolate nests and lots of lollies and used a wood offcut as a cake stand. I even made Hugh bags (tea bags with pictures of Hugh on them)!

Did I go overboard? Yes!
