Stefanie wrote in to share her son Nolan's colorful Texan birthday bash: I'm a big color kind of person and knew instantly when I started planning my son's birthday that I wanted to incorporate as many bright bold colors as possible to match his vibrant personality. August heat in Texas proved to be a deterrent to an outdoor party so we just kept it indoors and celebrated with about 30 close friends and family in the afternoon.
We served grilled hot dogs and potato chips in cute little bucket plates purchased from Target (on clearance from their summer picnic decor). Guests also enjoyed individual portions of potato salad served on silver cupcake liners, peanut-butter-pretzel-chocolate-m&m candy snacks, and fresh fruit. Guests sipped on blue and red Jones' soda or root beer. I ordered cute little cupcake wrappers from Etsy seller Yummy Cuppy Crafts in bright colors that matched the colorful sprinkles. Guests enjoyed handmade chocolate treats on the way out that were decorated in yellow tissue paper and adorned with colorful printed scrapbook paper.
A handmade "Happy Birthday" banner hung over the windows along with tissue paper pom-pom decorations hung from the ceiling over the food table and in the entry way. A few pictures hung on the mantle over the fireplace displaying how much Nolan had grown just over this one year.
We love a good party! We just put together a new "My Party" Submission Form. If you'd like to share the good ideas and photos from your child's celebration with the Ohdeedoh community please submit through the form found right here.
